Girls on Film - Strange Days - 19th March
This product is currently sold out.
Bristol Spirit is launching ‘Girls on Film’ - a club where we watch movies directed by women.
First out the gate is the classic Strange Days - directed by Kathryn Bigelow - who also made classics like Point Break, Near Dark and the controversial Zero Dark Thirty.
Strange Days is surprisingly relevant for 2020, exploring themes of virtual reality, gender politics and cyber security. It’s also got heavyweight performances from Juliette Lewis, Ralph Fiennes and Angela Bassett.
The format of the evening will be to watch the film together and then have a chat afterwards about its themes, what we think of Bigelow as a director, what marks her out as an auteur filmmaker, etc.
Doors will open at 7 and the film will start around 7.30.
The audience on the night will also choose the next film we watch.
Exchange your voucher for a cocktail or mocktail on the night. Feel free to BYO food, and you can enjoy our excellent drinks selection while watching the film.
Vouchers are transferable but not refundable. This is an over 18s event. Well behaved dogs are always welcome.
