There could only be one choice for our Autumn/Winter Classic Album Sundays event...

The Beatles‘ classic 1968 record ‘The White Album’ is celebrating its 50th anniversary on November 22nd. The band's ninth studio album - a double LP - featured such tracks as 'Back in the U.S.S.R.', 'Helter Skelter' and 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps.'

It's a glorious and flawed mess, and its failings are as essential to its character as its triumphs. People love this album not because every song is a masterpiece, but because even the throwaways have their place.

With these records, the biggest pop band in the world exposed millions of fans to a really great piece of avant-garde art.

Tickets cost £6 with the option to enjoy a Sunday roast at Bristol Spirit prior to the program (separate booking necessary).

Doors open at 5.30pm and after an intro by a guest TBC we'll listen to the album with a break for some leg stretching and drink ordering. After we've listened we usually stick around for a post album discussion. The event will finish around 9pm.

The LPs will be heard via a state of the art sound system supplied by Audio T, one of Bristol’s leading Hi-Fi retailers and our Classic Album Sundays partners.
