Simnel Cake Vodka
Espensen Spirit

Our Spring limited edition spirit has arrived!
And it is our next collaboration - with one of our favourite people, Scott Lucas, Masterchef of Great Britain. He has worked on the recipe with Sam Espensen for this wonderful spicy, fragrant, fruity spirit.
Simnel Cake dates back to Medieval times, and is a fruitcake, lighter than most, and in the Tudor era was baked as a celebratory cake for Mother's on Mothering Sunday, when young girls in service would take one home to their mother's. It also has religious significance, with 11 Marzipan balls placed on the top to represent all the Apostles, minus Judas.
Being full of delicious ingredients it seems apt to launch this lovely spirit after Lent!
We have blended our British vodka with butter, sugar, wheaten (Simnel) flour, candied fruit, citrus zest, cherries and Mrazipan.
The result is a beautiful spicy, warming, luxurious spirit. Those who have tasted it so far, have likened it to Jamaican Ginger Bread, Christmas Pudding and Amaretto. The Marzipan is faint in it, and the candied fruit and zest zing through it.
So far we have been drinking it neat, in Espresso Martinis and in a cup of iced coffee.
This is VERY limited edition and there are only 48 20cl bottles for sale so we recommend snapping them up quick! Please note you can now pick them up via our premises on Whitehall Road in Bristol as well as online for delivery.
